Before we moved to NYS we had DirecTV in Florida. Loved it and made sure we had it for our new home.
Hubs could not live without Sunday Ticket. We used Magic Jack and our cells for phone service. Jump ahead a few years. We both telecommute.
Magic Jack was unreliable. Along came Time Warner(now Spectrum) with a great deal. Phone/Internet/Cable so we went with it and were happy with it, although no Sunday Ticket. Over time however the price just kept creeping up and DirecTV was begging us to come back...free this, free that, free Sunday Ticket .
...so we went with Ooma for phone, Spectrum for Internet and DirecTV for the obvious. Less than a month in and I hate it! What the heck happened? You have to click numerous times to move around menu and often it just doesn't respond.
It drops the internet connection daily requiring a trip upstairs to reset the connection. On Demand on Spectrum was great - all the thumbnails helped clue you into new programming to check out. DirecTV What's New has FIVE thumbnails - whoopee. The sheer number of assine infomercial channels to *** out of your favorites is staggering.
Some channels appear to be only On Demand - better be prepared to endlessly hunt for an old favorite or a new show you heard about. Pull up a show On Demand and as soon as it ends it's asking you if you want to save or delete, the four seconds later it's starting the next episode - annoying. Set a show to record, and it may skip episodes or record out of sequence. Got to say my fav new glitch is watching a show on On Demand and the next day wanting to watch the next episode and getting the "program not available"...but being able to get it on another TV in the house or via accessing and undeleted episode.
Two year contract - ugh.
Maybe we can convert one tv back to Spectrum. DirecTV BAD!
