Directv in Shreveport, Louisiana - Early Cancellation

I am moving and after about 20 years of Direct TV service I requested that my services be terminated at the end of the billing cycle. This was thoroughly discussed with the agent and he told me that I would loose service on December 18th at 12:00am. However, I lost all service at 10:00pm on the 17th. I was unable to see the local weather at 10:00 and will not be able to watch the football games on Sunday as anticipated. Once they cut off your service they cannot put it back on without a new contract says the agent. I did not make a mistake, Direct TV did. They should be able to fix their mistakes. Oh well, at my new home I had planned on trying some of the options available with Direct TV as a fallback. No chance of that.
