Directv in Oakland, Maine - Terrible Customer Service - Charged incorrectly

I recently received my credit card statement and noticed I had been charged over 2 months worth of billing - $204! When I called I was told that my card card was declined and so they had to bill me for two months in one plus late fee charges. This was an error on DirecTV's billing as there was no change to my account, for heavens sake they just successfully billed me $204! Then I discovered they were charging me for Showtime which was offered to me for free for 3 months! After much arguing with JING employee ID# 19545326, she credited my account the late fee and cancelled the Showtime channel but did not give me a refund for the services - only a prorated credit. A total of $17 CREDIT on my next months bill. I told her that was unacceptable as I was not willing to pay for the $17 for the month I was being billed for. She then stated that she was not authorized to refund my credit card - only a credit on my next bill. This conversation went around and around for over 30 minutes. I was so incredibly frustrated! Then to top it all off I received an email stating there was an update to my account. Curiosity made me open up my online account only to discover that I was charged $10 for canceling Showtime!!! I am so done with DirecTV. I will be canceling once my month's billing cycle comes to an end. NEVER USE DIRECTV....they are the WORST!!!!!!

Issue with directv contract.

Brandon Niles account number with Directv is 32691628. We placed a downgrade request on April 22,2016. we requested to remove the HD receiver with a stranded receiver. We were told that in order to downgrade and swap out our receiver, it would require a new 2 year contract. I advised that I did not agree with that . The lady insisted that unless I agreed to new contract, they could not send a new stranded receiver. We finally used an old one. I placed a call on 9-2-16 and talked to Ryan customer number 100841336 who said that there is no contract for a swap out of lesser receiver. Changed his mind when he checked records and said we had agreement for new contract. The conversation was stressed and not resolved. He said unless we paid contract, our credit would be ruined. I would like to have directv to remove the contract and not bill us or send to credit bureau.

I've been with DirectTV for well over 10 years. This is the first time I've ever experienced such bad service. First it took me four hours of being transferred from person to person and being disconnected to finally get a representative named Joseph who could actually help me. I ordered one DVR at three boxes, for my summer house in Wells Maine. My appointment was between 12 and 4 On Saturday April 16 .I called at 430pm to find out why no one showed up. I was told the technician couldn't find me so my order was canceled. I was not aware that you did not equip your technicians with cell phones or GPS. When I called I was told I could have an appointment for today Monday. I took today off Monday.April ,18, losing $250 worth of pay, just to be told I have to lose another $250 tomorrow for somebody to drop a box off. Again my appointment is not until late in the afternoon, and I don't want to spend three days of no pay just to get a TV service .
