They are the worst. They gave me a price before installation and my bill doubled in one month. When I called to see why the sudden increase. They claim that I requested the premium package. I know what I requested and I hadn't agreed to the premium package since it was too expensive. They changed your plan without your knowledge and then they bill you for the higher amount hopeing you dont question it. They also forgot to tell me that there is an additional fee for the equipment every month.

I cannot get through to CS. Put in hold for 5 hours now!!! Called SALES got right through but they could only give me the # I already called. So the lesson here is direct TV doesn't care about current customers but are right there for new ones. *** OFF DIRECT TV I AM CANCELLING SERVICE!!

DirectTV has terrible customer service and business practices. they sent me the note below that had the following sentence "We'd like to offer you a complimentary upgrade, without a new programming commitment" When I call up Beth Employee # 18005001146. Tells me that complimentary does not mean free and they can give me this upgrade for $99. Talk about unethical business practices. Below is the full email Dear Valued Customer, This message is to inform you that we have launched a new version of the DIRECTV App which will replace your GenieGO device. GenieGO will no longer be supported after 11/04/16. The DIRECTV App allows you to continue to view your DVR recordings, download DVR recordings, and stream live TV from your receiver to your mobile device 1. In order to use the full functionality of the DIRECTV App, you will need to upgrade your receiver. We'd like to offer you a complimentary upgrade, without a new programming commitment, so that you can continue to enjoy your shows and movies on the go. Just spent 30 min on the phone listening to the music and a message that Direct TV provides the best customer service. In my experience it is the worst customer service ever. I agreed to their phone solicitation to add showtime to my package. Big mistake! When I tried to cancel it a week later they said that I have to pay a cancellation fee if I cancel it in less than 30 days and would not agree to cancel it in 30 days ether unless I call again on the 30th day (which is Sunday), so instead of taking a day trip with my family I have to call again and spend my time on the phone otherwise I will be billed for next month. They don't respect their customers time all. I can not wait when my contract with them expires. I will switch to a different service provider the very next day!

So I pay 160.00 per month and direct tv has the balls to tell me to watch the Olympics on nbc .com I cant record them I hav e to stay up late to watch them I have 3 dvr in the house which have no use for the Olympics while I am at work I miss all the events while I'm away. I asked for the new York feed they said I have to file for a petition which will take up to 45 days !!! So by the time the petition comes back Iwill be ready for the games in Japan. I have been with direct tv since "89." second they said I can receive local channels by antenna so I have to go buy a antenna and climb on the roof and stick this piece wire unit up there because I live to far away for the units you would use inside by the way I pay 160.00 per month hmm hello Comcast ??? Fios

I called direct tv to take advantage of a AAA deal they had advertised. It took three different people before one said they could take care of that. She requested all my info (ss# & credit caad) before she could give me a price or any info. I reluctantly gave her the info and then was told that to get the discount I'd have to talk to customer care. The first gentleman stated that I had to wait until I was billed to find the price. To that I said no way, just cancel. He gave me to a woman in customer care who stated the sales person was the only one authorized to give discounts. I informed her I had spent 3 hours at this point and ws told customer care was the only people who could give discounts. She said that she could cancel and start the whole process over with a person she would connect me with. I went along and got what sounded like the AAA discount and set a time for install. Got auto call and it was for a new time. I called back and got even another time and asked to check the cost. The price given was now without the discount. Frustrated I cancelled. 5 hours wasted!
