We signed up for DirecTV at Sam's Club by a rep who had a Cox employee card, claimed to be a DirecTV employee but was a hired third party marketer. He offered to lower our monthly expenses for cable TV, offer us the promo of NFL Sunday Ticket for the first year and coordinate the switch from Cox.
The DirecTV install team showed up with no intention of coordinating with Cox, and left without connecting the DirecTV Genie box to the internet (our home wireless) as intended. It took multiple visits over six months before a rep finally stated the wireless on their Genie box was inadequate to stream video (because we can do so with the attached TV with a laptop), so we had to run another internet cable behind the walls to the Genie box to get internet features. In the meantime, they also did not disenroll us from optional services (e.g., HBO, et al) that were a no-cost sign-up bundle, despite our logs of conversations, dates and times of their service personnel who promised to do so. This led to numerous billing errors, and after the first few months, never billed us for the agreed upon contract rate.
Sometimes they came close, but only by granting a one-time "credit" so we had to call every month as to why they were not honoring their written contract. We are VERY unsatisfied and are having the service terminated.
We've spent hours on the phone with their (lack of) customer service personnel to simply try and have them live up to their written contract, to little avail. DON'T USE THEIR SERVICE!!!
