140.00 a month for old programming,unless i pay more .BTW this payment doesn't include any premium channels. in to days times there are so meany other ways to watch tv without being bent over !

I’m sick and tired of Direct TV. It costs a bunch.

I’m retired and get 50 to 60 channels for ads Hispanic no offense to them. It’s a waste and I am figuring out I can pretty much get everything through a satellite Riki Amazon.

They haven't offered me one perk in years. I hear they may go to internet streaming.

They could give it to me free and I wouldn't use those pirates ever again. Getting rid of them was very liberating to say the least.

We were with DirectTv for 15 years and were paying over $200 for programming with The Ticket. Finally got fed up and let them shut us off and we now have Hulu and Amazon Prime and LOVE IT! Screw DirectTv

Service Sucks.... Worst customer service ever.

If you stand up for yourself they harass your service... My guide takes off on its own, running very quickly through every station, over and over... I even pulled out the batteries during this time and it kept running through them. During this virus, we as customers must pay or bill or be disconnected...

Yet, they don't need to answer our calls... Each time I call, I'm on hold for over an hour.... Then they do not fix the problem, because they are the Problem. I've rebooted my system many times...

Problem is customer service trash... They Intentionally mess with your service and deny your calls. I finally changed my number with them.. Now I'm receiving multiple spam messages from Strange companies...

My privacy rights have been violated. This is the Worst service you can ever pay for.. And believe me you will over pay your *** service. Don't waste your time or money on them.

I also have many videos of my service going down because it's sprinkling outside.

Customer service will blatantly lie to you and never have consequences for their actions, at Least not from the company... God See's Everything.

I agree with all of the comments. My wife and I are older and can no longer read the information from our chairs.

She likes to record shows so she can skip commercials if she wants, but can not see how far she is advancing the tv as it is hard to read the numbers for seconds skipped. They need to go back to the way it was.

Their customer support is really poor. I have spent 4 to 5 hours with their customer support team.

3 dropped phone calls and 1 disconnected chat support. After all this they agreed to send a new PVR receiver. Promised delivery in 3 days. Checked back after 5 days and was told no order was ever created to send one.

I’ve had enough. Cancelled service. Offered me $50 to keep my business. Really are they serious.

I would not stay with a years free service.

New format is brutal. I’ll stream everything I need from here on.

Someone needs to rethink this and think about simplifying the the entire formant... not next year, not two years from but very soon.

With this new guide they should be paying me to watch and use their crap. One more wrong move and I might as well go with the *** local tv spectrum.

I worked as CSA many years ago, was assigned to Dell, the center also had Logitech, as well as other companies. When you're speaking to an agent, that individual is in a call center.

Calling to complain will fall on deaf hears. Some 18 year old guy from who knows where is trying their best to follow the instructions for your particular issue that they've been provided with. Try to keep your calm because you're causing the situation to escalate. Instead write/type a letter and send it via snail mail.

Make it certified so that someone at that physical location must sign to receive the document. Emails, calls, and blog posts are all sorted nice and neat in some server that is likely nowhere near the physical location of the company. In summary, be mad at the company, not the CSA.

One other thing about the guide showing title not available or similar, it takes a while to fill because the box has to download a massive amount of data. Not just titles of shows, summaries for the programs must downloaded as well as info on the cast for all these programs.

I wanted and a little info for further clarification. All that info is being downloaded by air.

Remember dialup modems? I started out with a 33k dialup modem, then eventually upgraded to the 56k modem. The 56k modem was faster but a 3 minute song encoded as an mp3 was about 3mb and it would take maybe an hour or so for 1 song!

This was back in the late '90s. Anything you did on a computer took FOREVER, we all survived that.

*** is correct! My guide was working perfectly until 8/5/2019. Now they updated, and the search future listings is not working right.

I called Direct TV customer service last winter about the sudden loss of local channel 10 (WBPN). The rep said they were working on a resolution.

It's now August and now Direct TV has also dropped 2 more channels! (20) WBGH, and 40 (FOX/WICZ). Typical *** from cable tv companies. I am looking for alternatives to DROP Direct TV and tell them to go "F" themselves.

These channels are primary sports channels, Syracuse Basketball, Yankees baseball, US Open golf, etc. Direct TV thinks that adding this EPIX movie channel is suppose to make up for it? NOPE ...

That is DTV as a whole. When I started with DTV it was a box of junk I bought at Radio Shack, and put up myself (1999) since then I have sent more than 26,000$ with them, and still got treated like a *** every time I tried to get something fixed, I was a satellite communications engineer for NASA from 1967 to 1981...

I know how a satellite works, stop insulting my intelligence every time your poorly engineered junk takes a dive into the *** Never a decent channel package at a decent price. I was tired of paying for things I never watched, and not being able to get anything that resembled service without dealing with a fool that didn't know a damn thing about satellite communications. I tracked our viewing for a few months, and found out almost all of our TV was off Nexflix and Hulu. By-by DTV.

I cut the 120.00$ a month money-sink, and don't miss it at all. If they ever come up with competitive alla carte pricing, and get some customer service people that actually speak English in a fluent manner, maybe I will consider them again. In the mean time Hulu is free with my phone plan, pay for Netflix and Amazon... still less than 1/7th of what DTV was screwing me for.

Bye-bye AT&T bloodsuckers!

You have terrible cell coverage, terrible customer support, and terrible TV packages! What is to miss?

We had the old boxes and no DVR and were fine with that. Can't say I like the new guide.

Lost one feature I used. I liked to set up the box to switch to another channel at say Jeopardy at 7pm and 2 minutes early, just to watch, I don't care to record.

I don't see how to do this anymore. Am I missing something?

This is company is a daily ad for other tv companies! Why would you change your guide so that the background and small writing make it almost impossible to read!

If I didn’t know the channel numbers by heart, I certainly wouldn’t know what I wanted because you cannot tell, and when you select something you still don’t know what you have chosen, ID channel, Lifetime etc, because it does not say anything to let you know what channel it is other than the number! Someone should be fired over this!! Also we are still getting audio, video, and slow remote problems!! 2 months ago when called about the first two things the said they knew about this, as they were working on fixing the problem, after letting me explain the problem for 20 mins,!

The remote is a recent problem since the guide change. Changing to cable!!

Today August 18 - FIX YOUR SOFTWARE. Yes, you can't read a thing it's so tiny, you click on a picture to see a recording and it gives you the list of recordings, so you have to find it anyway. And now, you can't fast forward or stop or back, UGH, you make us pay so much, I won't be using you much longer.

When paging down through the guide, if it stops on one of the highlighted movie ads, it locks up and takes a couple of minutes to start moving again. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

What is wrong with your Engineers?

That stupid vertical line you have on the guide is ridiculous to say the least. Going to lose a lot of faithful customers very soon, unless you make drastic changes to the system.

Yes I use to brag on Dtv Guide. Now is terrible and they just today turned the fast forward/ rewind black back ground even darker than it was when people first complained about it blocking sports scores and other bottom banners. Now pretty green line and circle marker, but why blacked out screen bottom??

Been complaining to AT&T and DirectTV for MONTHS about all the problems listed below in other posts. Poor interactive channel guide, recorded shows not showing up in the list, etc, etc.

Each month we are told this is going to be fixed by this date, or that date and it never gets fixed. We have to re-boot the entire system every time we can't find pre-recorded programs. Last time we called, the DirectTV person (and I *** you NOT) told us....."this is an upgrade". AN UPGRADE????!!!!!!!!

We've been customers since the Primestar days and before AT&T got their hands on this it was a great system.

Thanks AT&T for ruining a good platform. We live in a very rural area and we cannot wait for our internet speed to be increased so we can tell AT&T and DirectTV where to shove their "upgrade".

We absolutely HATE the new guide and format. Every day we lose pre-recoded shows on our list and then later, they show up again on the list.

Nearly every show 'Freeze" for a few seconds....no movement or audio, then resumes, whether recoded or live. We are quickly considering changing to Dish Network after 19 years with Direct TV.

Stop these people from stealing our money and providing abominable service.

This is the worst service I have ever seen. 5 service cancellations from direct tv by them.

The last one we were assured was scheduled. It was not.

Their service is a health issue because they really don’t care or their automated service stinks. I am paying the $110 to stop the contract and going with the dish network.

I wish to tell you that I feel you are not providing the service that I'm being billed for. I know you rebroadcast the programming--but tonight I tried to watch a movie--the programming volume required the sound level of about 70% to hear the audio.

When commercial came on it was deafening, about 20% for the same volume of audio as the programming. I know this is correctable as I was a tech with the real AT&T and dealt with volume issues with toll calls as part of my job.

Please spend the money to save customers this type of aggravation or you may not have enough customers to pay your salary. Have the type of day you cause your customers to have.

I am assuming that we will all be getting a discount for the time that we lost with the CBS channel. This is my favorite go-to channel and I’m frustrated every day that it’s not there.

Please come to terms and restore a channel that I’m paying you for.

Ever since I have sign up with Directv there have been problems after problems. From poor TV service to billing problems each month .

Now the channels I sign up with I no longer can get due to they are no longer in the package I sign up with. Not because my contract is up with this package. They just choose not to offer them to me anymore.

But I thank you for your poor service. I will be looking to spending my money some where else.

We are very upset with Directv ! We have been customers for years!

We have called 2 times to have our service changed to wireless! They gave me a confirmation # and never called to set up for a service person to make an appt! When we didn’t hear from them we called back the 2nd time! They had not finished setting an appt up and didn’t know anything!

They gave me a 2nd confirmation # and now said it could be June before they could get to us!

What happened to MeTV?

Direct Tv has lost MeTV. It is available on our local cable provider, I don't understand why they lost it.

I asked them about it and they didn't get back to me. MeTV was an enjoyable channel with lots of classic shows. I would like Direct Tv to reinstate the channel. Does anyone else like the channel?

If so, please let them know.

the more people that contact them, the better the chance that they will do something. this probably comes down to cost, like anything else, but if the cable provider can offer it, I would expect Direct Tv to offer it as well.

MeTV (ch 808 in San Diego CA) has been completely removed from my cable provider. There's not even a listing in the guide.

I'm on a limited income and I only have basic cable which USED to include MeTV in the package. Now it doesn't and the only solution offered from Cox cable was to have a technician come out and install some sort of upgrade for $75.00. Install something for a channel that's not even listed anymore?

Nice try but I don't think so. I just want to know what happened and, to paraphrase an old slogan, "I want my MeTV".

I just got Direc tv and I'm shocked they don't carry Me TV, especially with all the lame channels they do carry.

took off Peacock option they added to Movie Extra. protest unapproved add-ons that increase price.

got an email to activate Peacock. It was added to current movie channel add-on and doubled the price.

I did not ask for it. It took 40 mins to login and then I could not see the account overview. Finally saw it was added by DirecTV. Chat bot said I could try to delete current add-on and see if I was given choice to return to just movie add-on.

All I get is "update pending - try again later". I did NOT ask for Peacock, I do not WANT Peacock and I do not want to spend endless hours correcting their

error.

NO warning given this was to happen.

DIRECTV did me wrong

I recently got a cold call from DirecTV wanting me to switch from Dish. The lady quoted me a price of $101.

That was a good deal better than Dish. While talking to her, I found out that that package did not include the History Channel, which is my favorite channel, so I told her that I would want to pay extra for it, and she told me it would be $599, so it was supposed to be $108. Well, when they installed it, I started looking for the History Channel and couldn't find it, so I called in and found out that I didn't get the History Channel; that I got History Vault. That was not what I wanted, so I told him that I wanted the History Channel, and they told me the only way I could get it was to upgrade my package, which was $50 more, and my total was going to be $160 plus change.

So now I was going to be paying $35 more than I was paying Dish to get my favorite channel. Well, that was unacceptable. I called and complained. I tried to get that package for the cost of what they quoted me, and they refused.

When I decided to go back to Dish, I remembered that their guy took down my satellite dish from Dish and threw it away, so now I was going to have to pay for a new installation fee with Dish if I wanted to switch. On top of that, I told him that I wanted to drop the History Vault, and my new price was quoted at $111, so I had to get rid of one thing, and my price went up by $10.

I'm so pissed off at DirecTV; I’m going to post my experience every place I can possibly find for the next 10 years, and I hope it costs them a lot more than the upgrade package. They refused me.

I cancel services due high price I paid Mt early termination fee or it's was taken from my bank account now my new services need some proof in writing my bill was and is paid in full now I'm requesting a closing bill from direct Tv. Now I joann Thomas mailed direct tv equipment back June 5 2025 but my apologies its was mailed to frontier from my ips store in murrieta ca 92563 now frontier is tracking it now as of july 23 2025 with a waiting time 7-24 days business days for the results.

Fix the problem. There was no resolving of the problem , Dirrct TV still not working every program is running off internet not direct TV and we dont have good internet service and were still paying for Direct TV.

The process for Direct TV cancellation starts with the account owner signing in to the account. Next, navigate to Manage my TV Subscription and choose Cancel my subscription. Follow the prompts for the cancellation. Users can also call the company's phone number and speak to a representative about the subscription cancellation.

There are different DirecTV plans with varying charges. The DirecTV Steam Entertainment package costs $69.99 plus tax every month.
