I recieved a call from the office of the president of Directv in Texas. The representative took care of and resolved the issue. I am now paying the $19.99 per month for 12 months as per the original agreement.

When code is finally pushed to my Genie, I expect I will have dealt with this issue for 7 months or so. Compensation was for 12 months going forward, so I am satisfied with how DirecTV resolved the issue for me, assuming it is fixed in the next couple months.
