DirecTV marketing and advertising would lead you to believe that they carry EVERY out of market game that is not on a major sports network ... and by this I would say that it should be available to me through no additional money.
I fully expect them to not have games that are on NHL channel or ESPN or my local TV station.
What I do not expect is that they DO NOT carry games that are exclusive to ESPN+/Hulu and these are also PAID services.
This is really false advertising.
And what is worse is that they will not even tell you what games they WILL NOT carry and constantly point you to the game schedule that they DO carry. You have no way of knowing what game is ESPN+/Hulu exclusive and they do not carry it unless you lay down the schedule provided by them and look at every day to determine what is or isn't on DirecTV.
DirecTV should redo all their marketing and advertising to say that if you purchase the NHL package, you are guaranteed nothing really but may (or may not) have the ability to watch out-of-market games.
At this time I had to PAY additional money for ESPN+ subscription just to watch select games.
Using tonight as an example:
I pay for the NHL package from DirecTV.
I had no issues watching three of the four games playing tonight.
The forth game I was most interested in.
It was not on any local station, not on NHL and not within the NHL package stations.
It was like there was no game ... yet I could see the live scoring on NHL web site.
I had to use my TV and purchase ESPN+ streaming service to watch the game ... a game that DirecTV led me to believe I could watch paying them their fee.
And now I have $5/month on top of their fee to watch all games (I think). Until I guess someone else who charges $ gets exclusive access to some games and then I pay them too?
They should at the very least include ESPN+ free with your subscription or refund that money to me for all months of NHL.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution
User's recommendation: At the very least as a consumer, understand that you are signing up for something that they cannot guarantee and you have no idea what games you can watch or not.

Verified ReviewerPaying bill not successful- they don’t want my $$$
DirecTV customer since 1994 and been very happy/ content with programming. Been paying via online for many years - always use the one-time payment option and enter bank acct info.
NEVER any issues. Recently, with my April payment I receive a msg no confirmation # avail and then an email thanking me for my payment. I paid my bill 4/27/21. I thought all was good.
Then after vacation I received an email indicating my bill was due. What? No- I paid before vacation. Paid on line again 5/9/21 and again no conf # avail .
Then I called Customer Serv. Spoke with live person and gave my acct info they provided their ID # as conf #. And told me to check my account after 24 hours. On 5/15/21 Did all of that again and called my bank to inquire if there was any attempt to collect from my bank acct.
Bank indicated that there was no issue. I have attempted to pay online and ultimately call customer service on 5/17, 5/24, 5/27, on 5/28 I had an online chat with Frank- he couldnt help, but sent links via email. On 6/7 I spoke with 3 people and finally requested a supervisor to call. Francis claimed my issued was being elevated and that a supervisor would call me back within 24 hours.
As of 6/11 no call back yet. Today 6/14, I attempted to pay as mentioned above via the mobile app (now 3 months worth). Each time I call they adjust for late fees etc, apologize because Im having a hard time (hard time?!? WTF I've been doing it this way for years.......)Additionally, each time Ive called they can reference my acct and verify my story - thankfully they keep notes on my acct and calling activity.
After ALL THAT I would think that DirecTV would think hey- we have a problem here - this lady keeps calling with the same complaint and providing her account info - yet her account still shows a balance due. I have spent hours on the phone and online. I just want to be confident that my bill is paid. I will be very upset (pissed off royally) if my service gets cut off OR if my credit score is effected.
I am convinced that there is a problem on their end as I have attempted to pay via their website, I have given my payment info to live people, I have attempted via their mobile app, and I have used the helpful links they have sent via email. I want resolution quickly and assurances that whatever is broken is fixed. Please help - Im beyond frustrated.

Very Poor Customer Service
I have just canceled my DirecTV service after 18 years as a customer. Ever since ATT took them over I have been unable to access my DirecTV account on line.
For the past 5 months I've had to call in to pay my bill. Those calls into the system ranged from 15 minutes to almost 45 minutes. I could never get anyone to help straighten out my account where I could access it on line .I have found DirecTV and ATT to be very difficult to do business with. In the age of streaming and cord cutting one would think they were be a little concerned about loosing a customer that had been with them so long.
They could care less. Getting rid of the DirecTV service will take a load of stress out of my life .I hope they continue to loose customers.
Maybe one day they will figure out how to take care of their customers. I doubt it though,,,,,,,
