Service is not free. They bring new equipment with new service and if you have a problem you have to pay to get their service to work, or they conveniently make you sign up for their service plan.

Either way a poor way to conduct business. When the phone in service request begins they have you dial a number and the computer message tries to dissuade you from speaking with humans. However, if you persist, they will send you to a call center in India. They will then tell you to unplug your system and try again, if that doesn’t work, they ask you to pay $99.95 to get their products to work, or you can sign up for $7.95 to get monthly service coverage.

Well, I wouldn’t pay for either and the only other choices, pay for Direct TV that works 40-60% of the time, or cancel and pay a large cancelation fee.

I’m paying the fee and will be cancelling my ATT phone service that costs $2400 a year and will be cancelling my internet service. So, the wise Customer Suppory staff at ATT/Direct TV have lost over $3,720.00 of my business over their terrible service.
