DIRECTV - Was told my 250.00 deposit was non-refundable
I called to disconnect..moving out of state due to family crisis. had 2 year contract, have had service 1yr .and a month.
I knew there would probably be a
charge for early termination, so I said that the money I will owe should be taken from my deposit of 250.00..at which time I was told I could not get anything back from that money.. In other words they were telling me that I just gave them that money..I guess they are so important that I was suppose to hand them 250.00 for the privilege of letting me pay each month for their cable. There is no such thing as a non-refundable deposit.
a deposit implies that it is either refunded or applied to and amount due. they nasty and I am elderly with a small SS check.I always paid my bills on time...someone needs to help us folks that are being ignored and taken advantage of, it is disgraceful,
Reason of review: Pricing issue.

I believe you get a $5 credit each month up to your deposit. So if your deposit was $250, you would get $5.00 off your bill for 4 years and 2 months.
If you cancel before the 4 years 2 months, whatever is left over is forfeited.
Sorry, you are wrong about the non-refundable deposit. Part of the deal when you signed on for the "service".
